Product Description

Buckwheat is one of the most efficient producers of plant proteins. They are a complete protein, as they include all essential amino acids. The seeds have a mild flavour, but when toasted or roasted, have a delightfully intense flavour. Groats can be steam-cooked like rice or can be ground into fresh flour.

Buckwheat groats gluten-free are the hulled seeds of the buckwheat plant. These soft white seeds have a mild flavor, but when toasted or roasted, they have a delightfully intense flavor. They are a popular grain in Eastern European cuisines.

They are gluten-free seeds from a plant related to rhubarb. The outer husk is pulled away and the grain-like fruit is harvested and eaten. Naturally Gluten-free and full of Proteins and Fibre. Enjoy this nutrient-rich superfood brought to you in a convenient way, peeled and ready to cook, soak or sprout. First cultivated in Southeast Asia thousands of years ago, in time buckwheat journeyed west and took root in Eastern Europe, where it became the star of many classic dishes. They are very nutritious and growing in popularity in many nations across the globe. They are a complete protein because they include all the essential amino acids.

  • Ours is naturally and sustainably grown by independent farmers in the Himalayan mountains near Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.

A popular grain and staple in Eastern Europe but grows wildly in our Himalayas. Our Buckwheat is farmed at altitudes as high as 4,400 meters and the period between sowing to harvest is only 30 days. Buckwheat grows so fast it crowds out most weeds. Hence no pesticides or fertilizers are needed to grow this crop and it is by default organic.

  • Soak and consume as porridge
  • Grind and use a flour
  • Bake into Breads, cereal

Groats can be steam-cooked like rice for salads and side dishes or ground in your own mill into fresh flour. The robust flavour of this quick-cooking gluten-free grain is perfect for salads, soups, and cereal. Buckwheat Groats also make an excellent hot breakfast porridge or side dish at dinner and can replace rice or any other grain called for in pilafs, casseroles, and more. Good quality Buckwheat at a fantastic price

I had been on the lookout for quality buckwheat for years and was happy to find it on Amazon. Earlier I had to order these from Singapore.
The buckwheat is of good quality. Slow boil it with salt and a pinch of cinnamon and finish it with Amul's garlic and herbs butter gives this buckwheat a taste of its own and doesn't even need anything to go with it.

Low glycemic index, fibers and loaded with vitamins/minerals make this an ideal replacement for rice/wheat for Diabetics and weight watchers.

Five Stars

Nice nutty flavour. I soak these overnight and make a smoothie with a fruit and some berries.
