Ingredients
1 cup buckwheat flour
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan Salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme or rosemary)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup water (adjust as needed)
Method
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the buckwheat flour, Himalayan Salt, garlic powder, dried herbs, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Next, add the olive oil to the dry mixture and stir until a crumbly texture is formed. Slowly add water, a little at a time to form a dough. Knead it gently until it becomes smooth and pliable. Roll out the dough into a thin, even layer using a rolling pin.
- Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough into desired cracker shapes. Carefully transfer the cut crackers onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small gap between each cracker.
- Before baking, you can sprinkle some additional herbs, salt, or sesame seeds on top of the crackers to enhance the flavour and appearance. Press them gently into the dough to ensure they adhere well.
- Place the baking sheet with the crackers into the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
