Product Description

Naturally gluten-free and a complete protein. Buckwheat groats have a mild flavour, but when toasted or roasted, have a delightfully intense flavour.

Buckwheat groats, also known as buckwheat seeds, are the hulled seeds of the buckwheat plant, a pseudo-cereal. Despite its name, buckwheat is not a type of wheat and is naturally gluten-free, making it suitable for those with gluten sensitivities.

Interesting Facts

  • Ancient Heritage: Buckwheat was first cultivated in Southeast Asia over 4,000 years ago and later became a staple in Eastern European cuisine.
  • Himalayan Origin: Our buckwheat groats are farmed in the pristine Himalayan region, ensuring their organic nature and unparalleled quality.
  • Quick Growth Cycle: From sowing to harvest, buckwheat takes only 30 days, making it a sustainable and efficient crop.

Our buckwheat seeds are naturally and sustainably grown by independent farmers in the Himalayan mountains near Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.

A popular "grain" and staple in Eastern Europe but grows wildly in our Himalayas. Our Buckwheat groats are farmed at altitudes as high as 4,400 meters and the period between sowing to harvest is only 30 days. Buckwheat seeds grow so fast they crowd out most weeds. Hence no pesticides or fertilizers are needed to grow this crop and it is by default organic.

Good quality Buckwheat at a fantastic price

I had been on the lookout for quality buckwheat for years and was happy to find it on Amazon. Earlier I had to order these from Singapore.
The buckwheat is of good quality. Slow boil it with salt and a pinch of cinnamon and finish it with Amul's garlic and herbs butter gives this buckwheat a taste of its own and doesn't even need anything to go with it.

Low glycemic index, fibers and loaded with vitamins/minerals make this an ideal replacement for rice/wheat for Diabetics and weight watchers.

Five Stars

Nice nutty flavour. I soak these overnight and make a smoothie with a fruit and some berries.
